Hadleigh Locals win campaign for single-lane route.

One-Way SignRESIDENTS in the lower part of Hadleigh Road, between New Road and Leigh Park Road, have won a campaign to make their part of the road one-way.

Residents preferred option

This will stop awkward confrontations between cars on this narrow but steep stretch of road.

Lib Dem councillor carole Mulroney presented their case to Southend Council's Traffic and Parking Working Party and cabinet committee and the change was agreed in principle.

However, the council will be consulting on the direction of the one-way road, southbound being the preferred option by residents because of the blind junction with Leigh Park Road.
