Christmas Parking in Southend

Following a number of announcements from other authorities about cheaper Christmas Parking and with the attraction of Lakeside & Bluewater in mind, Southend's Liberal Democrat Group on Southend Borough Council have written to the Town Clerk calling for Southend to support local traders and our High Street by introducing some similar arrangements.
"There is not much time left before Christmas now," says Cllr Graham Longley, "but every little piece of help will support the towns traders to survive. The Royals offer free parking one evening a week and perhaps, as they have in the past, the Council could do the same in the three weeks left."
