Tory follows LibDem lead

Tory leaders follow Cleggs lead! Liberal Democrats welcomed the Tory announcement at their party conference, that they would not be supporting the third runway for Heathrow. A policy, which the Liberal Democrats announced two weeks ago in Bournemouth.

"Although a little late", said Cllr Graham Longley Leader of the LibDem group on Southend Council, who was in Bournemouth to hear the LibDem leader make the commitment, "at least they are following a good policy. All we need them to do now is to take Nick Clegg's lead again and make the same commitment to Stansted where a second runway is proposed."

A greater commitment to public transport including a high speed connection to Birmingham is to be welcomed.
